Typically, customer will do their best to clear areas of decorations and furniture. In many cases I have senior citizens as customers and need assistance completing this task. At Peninsula Starlight Painting, our goal is to offer a customer service experience set apart from all others!

Any belongings that are in the area will be properly and meticulously covered using painters plastic and or cloth tarps. We take great care in protecting our clients personal belongings

Every job can be different. Depending on the function of the space and the desired look.

For interior walls, we recommend using high-quality latex (acrylic) paint such as Sherwin Williams Cashmere line due to its durability, ease of cleaning, and low odor. When it comes to finishes, here are our top recommendations based on room types and needs:

1. Flat/Matte Finish: Ideal for low-traffic areas like adult bedrooms or ceilings. This finish hides imperfections well but isn't as washable.
2. Eggshell Finish: A versatile choice for living rooms and dining rooms. It has a soft sheen, is easy to clean, and hides minor wall imperfections.
3. Satin Finish: Perfect for high-traffic areas like kitchens, hallways, and children's rooms. It has a slightly higher sheen than eggshell, making it more durable and easier to wipe clean.
4. Semi-Gloss Finish: Best for bathrooms, trim, and doors. It offers a shiny finish that's highly durable and moisture-resistant, making it great for areas prone to humidity.
5. Gloss Finish: Used for accent pieces, cabinets, or furniture. It's the most durable and shiny, but it can highlight imperfections, so surface preparation is key.

If you ask me, it's the wintertime! Although depending on the circumstances, if the home can be heated and ventilated will be ideal. Sometimes this may not be possible due to lack of power at the site. Generally we will paint an interior any time of the year .

• Changing colors: Two coats sometimes three help achieve the true color and prevent any old paint from showing through.
• New drywall: Two coats ensure that the porous surface is well-covered and protected.

Whether you stay in your home during the painting process is entirely up to you, but there are several factors to consider:

1. Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs): Paint can release VOCs, which can affect air quality and cause discomfort. If you are sensitive to odors or chemicals, it might be best to stay elsewhere until the paint has dried and the area is well-ventilated.
2. Occupying Another Room: If you have multiple rooms and can safely occupy a different part of the house, this could be a feasible option. However, keep in mind that painters will need access to these areas and may require you to move around during the process.
3. Safety Concerns: For senior citizens or anyone with mobility issues, there are additional safety considerations. Painting involves tarps, ladders, and other equipment that could pose tripping hazards. To minimize risks, it might be safer to temporarily relocate.

By weighing these factors, you can make an informed decision that best suits your situation. If you choose to stay, we recommend proper ventilation and minimizing time spent in the freshly painted areas. Also making sure pets are not allowed into the freshly painted areas as they may end up with a color change themselves!
